Weight Loss Program

Weight Loss Therapy Available in Cheyenne, WY

“If you just eat less and exercise more you will lose weight – it’s simple math.”

How many times have you heard that and argued back that you ARE doing both? While calorie intake contributes to weight loss, it turns out metabolism, insulin resistance and hormones play a bigger role.

At Northview Medical we understand that basic exercise and diet doesn’t always cut it for your weight loss goals. We focus on optimizing your overall health and wellness which in turn helps with your overall health.

A Focus on Long Term Health

Rather than focusing on minimizing your size, our providers focus on helping you achieve long term results that restore or improve your health for years to come whether that includes weight loss medications, hormone optimization, chiropractic care, or all of it.

Our providers will determine if medical weight loss is safe for you, then together with the provider a plan will be made to help you reach your goals. Each person's weight loss journey is unique to them, but our team will be here to support you and give you the tools to be successful!

Q&A

  • What are the benefits of using weight loss medications?

There are many long-term benefits of weight loss, both physical and mental. Things like fatigue, energy levels, and inflammation can be improved with weight loss. Long-term health conditions like high blood pressure, sleep apnea, heart disease, diabetes, and chronic pain can also improve when you are at a healthier weight. See our providers for more information on what else this program can help you with.

  • What is a prescription weight loss medication?

Although drugs vary and all carry their own risks, prescription weight loss medications may assist you. They work by reducing your appetite and improving glycemic control. Medications, in addition to a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition can be very helpful in getting you to your goal. Decreasing your overall body fat percentage can also help to relieve joint pain, decrease cholesterol levels, relieve stress on your heart, and improve your self-image!

  • How does Semaglutide or Tirzepatide work?

Tirzepatide is a ‘dual agonist’ because it activates two types of receptors in the body; glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). Semaglutide is a ‘single agonist’ working on the GLP-1 receptors. These medications mimic naturally occurring molecules and assist in metabolic function. Please schedule a consultation with our provider if you would like more information on how these medications may help you.

  • How does our weight loss plan work?

Our providers start by chatting with you, evaluating your current lifestyle, medications, diet, medical history and family history. We will have a consultation to discuss options and specifics about our medical weight loss, hormone optimization, and vitamin supplementation. If it is determined that you are a good candidate for our program, you will have some lab work done to ensure that it is safe to start. After making a plan with your provider, our program will be tailored to your needs and based on your personal progress. We will have regular check-ins to monitor progress and discuss any issues or concerns.

  • Are there side effects with these weight loss medications?

Unfortunately yes, with any medication you take there can be side effects. Though most are not serious and can be relieved with some minor interventions. However, there are some potential serious side effects that our providers will discuss at length during your first consultation visit.

  • Can hormones affect my weight?

Yes! The reason many diets don’t work, especially for women, is because they don’t address hormonal imbalances that can cause weight loss resistance. Energy loss that often comes with age-related hormonal imbalance contributes to weight gain in both men and women.  Several hormones have a role in dictating your metabolic rate, managing your energy, and regulating your blood sugar levels which all affect your ability to lose weight. The great thing is we can optimize your hormones too. To learn more see our hormone therapy page

  • Should I consider possibly doing weight loss medications and hormone optimization at the same time?

YES! We know that optimizing the ENTIRE human body will undoubtedly help you get to your goals. Ensuring that you live the happiest and most fulfilled life!
