HISTORY BEHIND THE HEALING POWER OF CHIROPRACTIC
Dating back to 17,500 B.C. Hippocrates thought that the misalignment of the spine directly contributed to the well-being of any person. The first modern-day adjustment took place on September 18, 1895 by Dr. Daniel Palmer. His goal was to find the causes and effects of sickness on the human body.
Dr. Palmer's first patient explained to him that he lost his hearing 17 years prior and that he strained his back, and heard a noise, when it happened. Dr. Palmer suspected that the man had a spinal misalignment that was causing his ailment. Once the doctor adjusted the spine, the patient's hearing began to improve.
